Man Inappropriately Touched 3 Children At Long Island Store: Police

The kids were 11, 9, and 7 years old, police say.

MEDFORD, NY — A man was arrested Saturday after inappropriately touching three children at a Medford store on three separate occasions, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, Jimmy Harry Velasquez, 44, of Mastic, was arrested at 9:02 a.m. in East Islip.

He inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl at T.J. Maxx on Horseblock Road on Wednesday at about 6:45 p.m., police said.

Following an investigation by the special victims section and criminal intelligence detectives it was determined that Gomez also inappropriately touched a 7-year-old and 11-year-old at the same T.J. Maxx on April 21 and September 25, police said.

Gomez was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

He was held at the Third Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, police said.
