NYS 3rd Assembly District Preview: Joseph DeStefano Vs. Trina Miles
Incumbent Republican Assemb. Joseph DeStefano will be challenged by Democrat Trina Miles in the 3rd Assembly District.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Voters in New York's 3rd Assembly District will see an incumbent challenged as they head to the polls on Nov. 5.
The candidates:
- Joseph DeStefano (Republican, Conservative)
- Trina R. Miles (Democrat)
Incumbent Assemb. Joseph DeStefano, of Medford, was elected to office in 2018. In 2022's election, he garnered 64 percent of the vote, according to Ballotpedia.

He will face Democrat Trina Miles, of Mastic, in the election. Miles' previous work history reportedly includes Suffolk OTB and the Board of Elections. It is the second time that she is running against DeStefano. In 2022, she lost with 36 percent of the vote, Ballotpedia shows.
Miles did not respond to Patch's questionnaire.
