Sunrise Highway is currently closed in both directions Friday morning at its intersection with Waverly Avenue in Patchogue, Suffolk County Police told Patch. Police also said that the highway is closed eastbound at Nicolls Road. Police told Patch the incident causing the closing occurred around 8:20 a.m. No other information is available. From Patch's observations, the bridge is currently filled with police officers with a group of officers working at the center of the bridge. This is a breaking news story. Patch will update as more information is available.
