Armed Robber Hits Two Freeport Stores

Suspect yet to be found in the case of a robbed liquor store and attempted robbery of a gas station in Freeport.

An unnamed armed robber swept through two Freeport stores Tuesday.

According to Nassau County Police Department, at around 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, a tall, light skinned Hispanic male, wearing dark clothing, a mask and gloves, entered Crosstown Liquor, located at 57 S. Main St., armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun.

He demanded money to which the female victim, 52, complied.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was alone in the store at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.

At 6:40 p.m., the same suspect entered Sunoco gas station, located at 279 Atlantic Ave. and demanded cash. The male victim, 55, refused, swatting at the gun.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction with no proceeds.

There was one customer in the store with the victim at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.
