Bellmore-Merrick CHSD Students to Perform in Music Festival
Students were selected to participate in the Long Island String Festival Association's annual concert.

Several students within the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District were selected to participate in the Long Island String Festival Association’s annual concert.Â
The festival brings together string players from elementary, middle and high schools throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Calhoun High School students, David Chena and Thomas Ransom from Calhoun High School will perform on violin, with Celia Bittman on cello and Lydia Librizzi on viola.Â
Representing Kennedy High School are Josh Corwin and Samantha Adams on viola, Daniel Grange on cello, Nicole Homburger on violin and Gregory Mora on double bass.Â
Mepham High School students, Jessica Dijkstra and Hannah Weibley will perform on cello, with Nicholas Sery on viola.Â
Since its inception in 1956, the festival has grown from one to four orchestras for each county. This year’s  concert will take place on Nov. 17 at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School.Â
