Chatterton Students Collect Candy for Troops
Merrick third graders help out through Operation Gratitude
Chatterton Elementary School third graders in Lindsay Struss’ class collected and organized candy for United States troops through Operation Gratitude in the Merrick School District.
Struss’ class collected and packaged a collection of candy, including Snickers, Milky Way and Skittles to send to servicemen and servicewomen. In addition, students included handwritten letters thanking the troops for their dedication and service in each package.
Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that seeks to lift the spirits and evolving needs of United States troops and gives Americans the opportunity to thank all those who serve our nation.
