Cops Release Photo of Suspected Five Towns Burglar

Police say the man tried to break in through a mail slot of a Woodmere home before entering through the front door.

Nassau Police released a photo Friday of a man they say broke into a Woodmere home last week.

At 3:18 p.m. on June 15, the man tried to access a mail slot in the front door of a Church Avenue home, cops said. The man left and returned at 3:55 p.m. when he broke in through the front door, police said. The man reportedly took an unknown amount of items before fleeing the scene.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
