A traffic stop revealed a defaced gun and led to two arrests. One Merrick congregation is celebrating getting a new Torah. And an upcoming free event means no one has to miss getting breast cancer screenings, even without insurance.

3. The Daily Voice reports that a routine traffic stop of a BMW SUV in Inwood led to the arrest of two teenagers on weapons charges after they were found with a defaced pistol. They were stopped on Sheridan Boulevard. (Daily Voice)
