Mother Killed After Being Hit By Drunken Driver: NYSP
The Long Island woman's 7-year-old son survived the crash, police said.

NORTH MERRICK, NY — A woman was killed and her 7-year-old son was injured in a crash caused by a drunken driver on the Meadowbrook State Parkway early Sunday, police said.
New York State Police said 39-year-old Lissette Quintanilla was driving a 2006 Kia north on the Meadowbrook in North Merrick when her car was rear-ended by the driver of a 2012 Nissan Rogue just after midnight.
The impact caused the Kia to leave the roadway and strike a tree, police said.

Quintanilla, of South Hempstead, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where she died. Her 7-year-old son, a passenger in the car, was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, 26-year-old Nicole A. Pollock, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with first-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree assault, second-degree vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated.

Pollock was arraigned Monday and held on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
