• 5 Evacuated After Merrick House Fire: Fire Marshal (patch.com) — An overnight house fire on Elliot Street in Merrick forced five residents to evacuate, but everyone got out safely. Multiple nearby departments, including North Merrick and Bellmore, quickly brought the blaze under control in about 15 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
