Police Seek Merrick Identity Thief
Man stole thousands from Merrick resident's bank account using forged checks, cops said.

Nassau detectives are searching for a man they say stole thousands of dollars from a Merrick resident in January.
Between Jan. 24 and 26, the man was caught on camera at New York Community Bank on Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood, police said. There, he cashed four forged checks totaling $3,725.72 against a Merrick resident’s bank account, cops said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
