Merrick Union Free School District will begin a new academic new year on Tuesday. 

Here's a quick look at more important dates in the district:

Fall Holidays

  • Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 5 and Sept. 6
  • Columbus Day: Oct. 14
  • Veterans Day: Nov. 11
  • Thanksgiving Recess: Nov. 28-29

Winter Holidays
  • Christmas Recess: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
  • Martin Luther King Day: Jan. 20
  • Winter Recess: Feb. 17-21

Spring Holidays
  • Spring Recess: April 14-21
  • Memorial Day: May 26
  • Last Day of School: June 20
