Teenager Demands Money From 2 Youngsters In Roosevelt, One Struck With A Handgun: Police
The 15-year-old boy was arrested and faces charges that include second-degree attempted robbery and second-degree menacing, police said.
ROOSEVELT, NY — A teenager was arrested for attempting to rob two young people in Roosevelt, police said.
Just before 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, a 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were walking on Babylon Turnpike when an unknown boy, 15, demanded money, police said.
When the victims did not comply, the suspect displayed what appeared to be a black handgun and struck the male victim several times in the arm, police said.

Fearing for their safety, the children ran home and informed their parents who then notified police.
An investigation led police to locate the teenager, who was placed in custody without
incident, authorities said.

He is charged with second-degree attempted robbery, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment, police said.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
