Project on Hewlett Avenue to Begin, Babysitting Workshop Coming Up This Week

Here's what's happening this week in and around Merrick.

1.Improvements to Begin on Hewlett Avenue: The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will install a new left-hand turn signal at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Hewlett Avenue starting on Tuesday.

2. Babysitting and First Aid Workshop-Young Adults: The workshop hosted by registered nurses, Joann Tanck and Georgette Basso, will teach young adults how to become become a professional babysitter. The event will take place at the Merrick Library at 6 p.m. on Monday.

3. Museum Passes at North Merrick Public Library: This week, the library will be offering free museum passes to North Merrick adults who have a library card and good standing.

4. Senator Fuschillo Free Senior ID Program: Senator Charles Fuschillo and County Executive Ed Mangano will host a free senior ID program at the North Bellmore Public Library on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Residents ages 65 and up are encouraged to attend.
