Woman Fatally Struck Crossing Street In Nassau: Police

NORTH MERRICK, NY — A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday night in North Merrick, police said.

The 44-year-old victim, identified as Judith Aime, was hit by a 2015 Dodge Charger just before 11 p.m. as she attempted to cross Jerusalem Avenue near West Drive, police said.

She suffered severe trauma was pronounced dead at an area hospital, police said.

The 36-year-old male driver remained at the scene, authorities said. Police are investigating.
