7,000+ Central Hudson Customers Still Without Electricity Thursday

Meteorologists reported 60 mph wind gusts and 1-inch hail in the fast-moving violent thunderstorm Wednesday.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Central Hudson crews continue to work on restoring electricity to more than 7,000 of its customers who lost power during Wednesday's powerful storm.

The power company said, as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, that there are 7,200 customers in Ulster County still without electricity.

The estimated time for restoration is 10 p.m. Thursday.

Around 9 a.m., the utility company said there were more than 10,500 Ulster County customers without electricity.

There are still 3,400 customers without power in the city of Kingston, which is still the hardest hit area. That number is down from 6,000. More than 1,500 in Hurley are waiting for the power to come back on.

Marbletown has just under 1,000 and the town of Ulster has just a little more than 900.

Outages in Dutchess County, numbering about 100, should all be restored by 4 p.m. Thursday.
