NEWBURGH, NY — A third-prize winning Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was sold in New York.
New York Lottery officials said the winning ticket for the May 17 Powerball drawing was purchased at Smokes 4 Less in Newburgh.
The winning ticket was worth $100,000 because the person who bought it opted for the Power Play multiplier, which for this drawing was 2, doubling the prize from $50,000 to $100,000. The Power Play feature is an additional $1 extra per game.

The winning numbers for the May 17 Powerball drawing are 18-34-37-45-51, with a Powerball of 14.
Winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m.
Tickets for Powerball expire one year from the date of the drawing.
