17-Year-Old Arrested In 2023 Attempted Murder Case: Police
On March 7, City of Newburgh detectives arrested a 17-year-old boy from the Town of Newburgh in connection with the shooting.

CITY OF NEWBURGH, NY — Police have made an arrest in a shooting that took place nearly two years ago.
On June 7, 2023, around 5:06 p.m., City of Newburgh police responded to the area of 26 Liberty Street after receiving a report of shots fired. Soon after, police were notified of a male victim who arrived at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital with four gunshot wounds. City of Newburgh detectives and the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force responded and began their investigation into the incident.
Police say the victim ultimately survived.

On March 7, City of Newburgh detectives arrested a 17-year-old boy from the Town of Newburgh in connection with the shooting. The juvenile was charged with second-degree attempted murder.
The incident was investigated by the City of Newburgh Detective Division and the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force, which is a joint investigative collaboration between the City of Newburgh Detective Division, Orange County District Attorney's Office Investigators, and the Orange County Crime Analysis Center.
