2 Wallkill Men Accused Of Rape In Ulster County

Police said one of the men sexually assaulted someone at a Shawangunk home and then both of them sexually assaulted another person.

SHAWANGUNK, NY — Two Wallkill men were each accused of raping someone at a Shawangunk residence.

The New York State Police from the Highland barracks, along with officers from the Shawangunk Police Department, were sent July 15 to a home in the town of Shawangunk for a report of a sexual assault.

An investigation found that Ronald Paul Dean, 26, of the hamlet of Wallkill, sexually assaulted an individual at the residence, police said.

Lawrence James Wilson, 27, also from the hamlet of Wallkill, sexually assaulted a different person along with Dean while at the residence, according to law enforcement.

Wilson was arrested July 16 and charged with first-degree rape, a felony. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail on $25,000 bail, $50,000 secured bond and $100,000 partially secured surety bond.

Dean was arrested July 19 and charged with first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sex act, felonies. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail on $10,000 bail, $25,000 secured bond and $50,000 partially secured surety bond.

On July 25, Wilson and Dean were both indicted for first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act, acting in concert, felonies, by the Ulster County grand jury.

State troopers were assisted in this investigation by the Shawangunk Police Department, Walden Police Department and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
