3 Poughkeepsie Men Accused Of Home-Invasion-Style Robbery

Law enforcement said the men were arrested and charged at different times for a robbery that took place in July.

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — Three men were arrested after being accused of taking part in a home-invasion-style robbery in the town of Pleasant Valley last summer.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau said the men participated in an armed robbery in Pleasant Valley July 2, during which cash was stolen and two victims suffered minor injuries.

Authorities said the robbery was not random, and there was no danger to the public as a whole.

The victims were specifically targeted for the robbery, according to law enforcement.

  • Marlon Washington, 47, of the city of Poughkeepsie. He was charged with first- and second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree conspiracy, felonies. He was arrested Nov. 22, arraigned in the Town of Union Vale Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail with no jail.
  • Jimy Peraltamarte, 22, of the city of Poughkeepsie. He was charged the same as Washington. He was arrested March 2, arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail or $200,000 bond.
  • Miguel Lora, 47, of the city of Poughkeepsie, first- and second-degree robbery and first-degree burglary, felonies. He was indicted by a grand jury and arraigned in Dutchess County Court Wednesday while already being held at the Dutchess County Jail on a probation violation from an unrelated charge.

Authorities said information was previously withheld because the investigation was complex and relied heavily on confidentiality to be successful.
