34-Year-Old Airlifted After Brutal Beating With 2x4 At Home

New York State Police say a 31-year-old Ulster County man has been charged with felony assault in connection to the violent attack.

WAWARSING, NY — A violent attack with a 2x4 left an Ulster County man fighting for his life.

On January 8, at around 3 p.m., state police from the Ellenville barracks arrested 31-year-old Eudomar Demacedo, of Ellenville, after an altercation that left a 34-year-old male victim seriously hurt.

The violent incident took place hours earlier at the victim's home on Route 209 in Wawarsing. During the altercation, Demacedo struck the victim multiple times with a 2x4.

The victim was taken to Ellenville Hospital and later airlifted by helicopter to Garnet Health Medical Center — Middletown.

After an investigation by the State Police Ellenville Bureau of Investigation (BCI), Demacedo was arrested and charged with felony second degree assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. After arraignment in Ulster County Central Arraignment Part, he was remanded to the Ulster County Jail.
