56-Year-Old Victim In Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash ID'd By NYS Police

The Chevy Tahoe had been traveling in Ulster County, when due to weather conditions, the SUV veered off the road and hit a tree, police say.

WAWARSING, NY — State police have identified the victim of a Saturday night, single-car crash.

The New York State Police say that on Saturday, around 10:55 p.m., troopers responded to a one-car collision on Otens Road, in the town of Wawarsing.

An initial investigation found that a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling east on Otens Road, when due to adverse weather conditions, the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

After the driver and only occupant of the SUV was extricated from the SUV, troopers attempted life-saving measures. However, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the woman as 56-year-old Tammy Hyatt, of Ellenville.
