Arrest Made In 2003 Murder Of Orange County Woman

WAWAYANDA, NY — An arrest was made in the 2003 murder of an Orange County woman.

The New York State Police said Edward V. Holley, 42, of Wawayanda, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, a felony, in the death of Megan McDonald of the town of Wallkill.

Police said McDonald was found dead in the town of Wallkill on March 15, 2003. She had been killed in the driver’s seat of her 1991 Mercury Sable, and her body was dumped where she was found on the dirt path off Bowser Road.

She died of multiple skull fractures and brain injuries from blunt force trauma, authorities said.

Investigators said they found Holley owed McDonald a substantial amount of money and that was causing hostility between the two leading up to the homicide.

Holley’s alibis for the night of the murder, police said, were all proven to be false. Numerous witnesses contradicted his statements regarding his whereabouts during the time of the murder.
