The new location is at 88 Dunning Road in Middletown, across from the Home Dept.

Bob’s is the eighth-largest furniture chain in the United States with 166 stores across 24 states and more than $2 billion in annual sales.

Adam Abbassi, regional sales director for much of the northeast, told Patch that bringing the store to Middletown was a good idea because a lot of customers from Middletown travel to other stores such as in Nanuet and Poughkeepsie to shop.

Now they won't have to travel as far, he said.“And it’s a great retail area.”

Abbassi said that the new Middletown location will create 20 to 30 jobs, the majority of which will be full-time.

He said the new store will provide quick delivery service, with 90 percent or more sales delivered in two to three days.

“With mattresses,” Abbassi said, “as long as we have it in stock, you can have it tomorrow.”

He stressed that having a store in a community means Bob's is a part of the community.

“We are always looking for opportunities to support schools,” Abbassi said, adding that the company donates money to community organizations.

“It’s one of our core values,” he said.

The $5,000 being presented during the grand opening with be split equally between two Middletown groups: HONOR, which provides temporary homes to more than 100 people, and Regional Economic Community Action Program, an anti-poverty agency serving Orange County’s most vulnerable residents for more than 50 years.

But that’s not all Bob’s does.

“Whether it’s a boots-on-the-ground kind of approach, or it’s a charity that has reached out to us,” Abbassi said, “we can help a number of ways.”

He said, in addition to providing stylish furniture at a great value to the community, the store’s mission is to look for needs and try to fill them.

The store strives to be a good neighbor.

“It is one of our core values,” he said.
