Body Recovered From Hudson River Near Mid-Hudson Bridge

Authorities said the body appeared to be a woman.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A body was recovered from the Hudson River Monday.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said it was alerted around 10 a.m. Monday that a possible body had been seen in the river near the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

The sheriff’s office Marine Patrol went to the scene and recovered the body with the assistance of a Hyde Park Marina employee.

The investigation into the identity of the woman and how she died is continuing by the sheriff’s office detectives along with the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies said more information may be released at a later time.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Town of Lloyd Police Department and the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department.
