Chiropractor Beat Toddler While Awaiting Sentencing For Child Sexual Abuse Material: Police

The Kingston man and his wife possessed and promoted material depicting necrophilia, bestiality and bondage, according to media reports.

TOWN OF ULSTER, NY — A prominent Kingston chiropractor who admitted his guilt to possessing and promoting child sex abuse material, and was out on bail while awaiting sentencing, is now facing new charges for assaulting his 19-month-old child over the weekend, according to police.

The Ulster Police Department says that officers responded to a a Town of Ulster home on Saturday after receiving a child abuse complaint.

In a joint investigation between the Ulster Police Department and the Ulster County Sheriff's Corrections Division, investigators determined that during a verbal domestic dispute, 34-year-old John F. Boyle III, of Kingston, struck his 19-month-old child several times, causing swelling and discoloration to the child's face. Police say that the incident took place in front of his three-year-old child.

According to authorities, during the same dispute, Boyle made several "concerning and threatening" statements to one of the victims.

Boyle was arrested and charged with second-degree assault for causing physical injury to a child less than seven years old, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree aggravated harassment.

He was processed and was pending arraignment at the Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Court.

The Ulster Police Department was assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, Ulster County Child Protective Services, and the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.
