Connecticut Man Pleads Guilty To Sex With A Child

The Orange County district attorney said the child was less than 13 years old.

GOSHEN, NY — A Connecticut man admitted in court that he had sex with a child in Orange County.

District Attorney David M. Hoovler said Thursday that Patrick Lynch, 44, of Bethel, Connecticut, pleaded guilty to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child.

Under the plea agreement announced on the record at the time he pleaded guilty, Hoovler will recommend that Lynch be sentenced to 20 years in state prison and 20 years of post-release supervision when he is sentenced Sept. 26.

As part of the sentence, he will also be registered as a sex offender under the New York Sex Offender Registration Act.

Lynch admitted in court that, being 18 years or older, over a period of time not less than three months in duration he engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct, which included at least one act of sexual intercourse, oral sexual conduct, anal sexual conduct or aggravated sexual conduct with a child who was less than 13 years old.
