Couple Rescued From Burning RV On Thruway In Catskills
An on-duty Amtrak detective and a Troop T trooper were instrumental in helping rescue the pair.
CATSKILL, NY — A couple was rescued from a burning motorhome on the Thruway Thursday by a New York State Police trooper and an on-duty Amtrak detective.
The Troop T trooper and the Amtrak detective were passing the area near Exit 20 and found the couple trapped in the burning vehicle because it was stopped too close to the guide rail to open the door, News 12 reported.
The windshield was too thick to break, but the trooper eventually was able to pry open the door.
