Crack, Coke, Xanax, Suboxone Films Found In I-87 Traffic Stop: NYSP

The driver from New Jersey is now facing felony and misdemeanor drug charges, according to New York State troopers.

TUXEDO, NY — A traffic stop in Orange County led to a substantial cache of illegal drugs, according to state troopers.

New York State Police say that on Friday, around 9:58 p.m., a trooper from Newburgh stopped a 2020 Honda Civic traveling north on I-87, in the Town of Tuxedo.

While speaking to the driver, identified as 30-year-old Javon M. Alleyne, of Irving, New Jersey, troopers developed probable cause to search the car, according to troopers. The search resulted in the seizure of around 45 grams of crack cocaine, 6 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of Xanax, and suboxone films.

Alleyne was arrested and charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (narcotic drug), felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell), two misdemeanor counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
