Delivery Truck Rolls Over Spilling Heating Oil In High Falls

Efforts are underway to manage and mitigate the impact of the home heating oil spill under the supervision of the DEC.

HIGH FALLS, NY — A fuel delivery truck rolled over in an accident Tuesday morning in High Falls leading to a spill of home heating oil.

According to a news release from Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, the incident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Mohonk Road.

First responders were on the scene within minutes, reacting to the situation, authorities said.

Efforts are underway to manage and mitigate the impact of the home heating oil spill under the supervision of the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

Cleanup operations are mandated to be executed and paid for by HOP Energy, the company that operated the vehicle.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office. No further details are available at this time.

Other responding agencies included the Ulster County Department of Emergency Services, New York State Police, High Falls Fire District, Stone Ridge Fire District, Rosendale Fire District, City of Kingston Fire Department and HAZMAT team and Bloomington Fire District.
