Drug Task Force Raid On Main Street Leads To Capture Of Major Drug Trafficking Suspect: DA
He violently resisted arrest while trying to grab a Drug Task Force agent's duty weapon, according to the Dutchess County DA's Office.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A sting at a Hudson Valley home netted a large stash of cocaine, according to law enforcement in Dutchess County.
The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force announced the successful execution of a search warrant in the City of Poughkeepsie following an undercover narcotics investigation.
Agents launched the investigation after receiving intelligence about a suspected dealer, 48-year-old Angel Lebron, believed to be selling narcotics out of a Main Street apartment. After purchasing narcotics from Lebron several times, they obtained a search warrant for his home and vehicle.

On Nov. 25, Drug Task Force agents, along with a City of Poughkeepsie K-9 officer and members of the NYSP Community Stabilization Unit, took Lebron into custody on North Clinton Street, in the City of Poughkeepsie, after police say he violently resisted arrest while trying to grab a Drug Task Force agent's duty weapon. At the time of his arrest, Lebron was found to be in possession of large amounts of cocaine, according to police.
After his arrest, members of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Unit (SWAT), the Poughkeepsie SWAT team, and members of the Drug Task Force, executed the search warrant at Lebron's home. During the search, they seized large amounts of cocaine, drug packaging materials, cash, digital scales, ammunition, a gun holster, and other items associated with the sale and distribution of narcotics.

Lebron was charged with felony second-degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon (loaded handgun); felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell); felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (weight); and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
He was later arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail. The Drug Task Force says that there are multiple sales charges pending against Lebron related to this case.

This investigation and enforcement action were a result of close collaboration between the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Patrol Bureaus, the Town of Poughkeepsie and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Departments, the City of Beacon Police Department, the Town of Hyde Park Police Department, the Town of East Fishkill Police Department, and the Town of Fishkill Police Department.
