Dutchess Man Arrested For Sex Offenses Against Children: NYSP

Between November 2021 and January 2024, the Beacon man had, according to state police, inappropriate contact with 2 children under age 14.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY — Troopers say that a Dutchess County man has been arrested for sexually abusing children.

New York State Police said that the SP Poughkeepsie Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in collaboration with the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center, arrested a 49-year-old Beekman man on Friday for multiple sex offense charges.

Investigators say that between November 2021 and January 2024, Eric Pentenrieder had inappropriate contact with two children, both under the age of 14, who are not related to him.

His charges include misdemeanor forcible touching, misdemeanor second-degree sexual abuse, misdemeanor third-degree sexual abuse, misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, and felony first-degree sexual conduct against a child.

Pentenrieder was arraigned at Beekman Town Court and was ordered held at the Dutchess County Jail on $25,000 cash bail, $50,000 bond, or $250,000 fully secured bond. He is scheduled to return to court on March 19.
