Fire At Iconic Borscht Belt Hotel Under Investigation
The former Nevele Grand Hotel is located in the town of Wawarsing.
WAWARSING, NY — A fire at a former Borscht Belt hotel in Ulster County is under investigation.
The fire began around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the “Winter Building” of the former Nevele Grand Hotel in the town of Wawarsing, News 12 reported.
Officials said the whole building was fully involved.

Last September, MidHudson News reported, the property was sold to 1100 Arrow LLC with the aim of demolishing decrepit buildings to make room for a 126-unit housing development.
