Florida Man Accused In Ulster County Shooting Death
Police said he is the brother of an Army sergeant who was arrested in March.
PLATTEKILL, NY — A man from Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested after being accused of killing someone in Ulster County.
The New York State Police said members of the Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Juwaugh Dawkins, 31, of Jacksonville, Florida, Tuesday at the Highland barracks.
Dawkins was charged with second-degree murder and three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.

Police said he is the brother of Junando Dawkins, who was also arrested for the same charges in the shooting death of Daniel Spotards, 41, of Plattekill.
Juwaugh Dawkins was brought back from the state of Florida by members of the state police and lodged in the Ulster County Jail without bail.

He will appear before the Ulster County Court, police said.
Junando Dawkins of Newburgh was arrested in March at the U.S. Army base in Fort Liberty, North Carolina, which until recently was Fort Bragg. The Army sergeant was brought back to New York by state troopers and arraigned March 10.
