Frost, Freeze Possible Overnight In Hudson Valley
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, meteorologists said.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Possible freezing or near-freezing temperatures are forecast for parts of the Hudson Valley overnight Tuesday.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze watch for Orange County from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.
Meteorologists said the watch is mainly for the western portions of the county.

Additionally, frost advisories are in effect for Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties from midnight Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday and for western Columbia, eastern Ulster and western Dutchess counties from midnight Tuesday to 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Temperatures as low as 33 to 36 degrees will result in frost formation.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possible damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
People should take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
In order to prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes, they should be wrapped, drained or allowed to drip slowly. If you have in-ground sprinkler systems, they should be drained and above-ground pipes should be covered to protect them from freezing.
