Highland Student Accused Of Making Threats On Social Media
Police said the threats were directed toward students and staff at Highland Middle School.

HIGHLAND, NY — A 13-year-old Highland Central School District student was accused of making a threat on social media against Highland Middle School.
The Town of Lloyd Police Department said the teen was arrested Monday.
He was charged with making a threat of mass harm, a misdemeanor.

Authorities said the threatening and violent messages were made Saturday and were directed toward students and staff of the middle school.
Lloyd police immediately began an investigation and were able to locate and identify the person responsible for the threatening posts.

After being arrested, the 13-year-old was released to his parents on an Ulster County Family Court appearance ticket.
He is due to appear in Ulster County Family Court later in April, police said.
