Hudson Valley Forecast Shows Snow Then Warming Trend: NWS

Changes are in store for the weather this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The region is expected to experience snow showers today, though forecasters say accumulations will be minimal.

Abbey Gant, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said Thursday morning the total accumulation will be “less than an inch,” with some areas in the region getting about a half inch of snow.

“The snow showers will be this afternoon and will diminish tonight,” Gant said.

Expect dry conditions throughout the Hudson Valley Friday through Sunday, according to Gant.

“We are expecting a warm up in the coming days,” she said.

Today will continue to be chilly, with highs in the mid-20s. Friday’s weather will be slightly warmer, with highs potentially in the low 30s. On Saturday, the region will have temperatures in the low to mid-30s, and on Sunday, it will be in the upper 30s, possibly close to 40 degrees, according to Gant.

Today: A chance of snow showers, mainly after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 26. North wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Northwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 31. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 10. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 39.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.
