After the shooting, he threw the pistol and magazine he used during the murders into the Hudson River.

District Attorney Hoovler thanked the Town of Newburgh Police Department and the New York State Police for their investigation and the arrest of Goode-Ford. He also thanked the FBI and the NYSP Dive Team for their help.

"The utter viciousness and senseless violence this defendant exhibited in perpetrating these awful crimes is unparalleled," Hoovler said. "Words fail to adequately describe the depravity of this defendant's conduct, but the word 'guilty,' as heard repeatedly from the jury today will likely ensure this convicted killer will not be free again to commit acts of violence. My deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of lost in this senseless attack. I thank the Town of Newburgh Police Department and New York State Police for their untiring efforts in bringing this defendant to justice."
