Legoland Offers 1st Responders Free Admission In Lead Up To 9/11

Police, sheriff's deputies, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics will be eligible for free admission to Legoland New York Resort.

GOSHEN, NY — For the weekend leading up to Sept. 11, Legoland New York Resort will be honoring first responders.

To say “thank you” to those people who help to keep New York communities safe every day, Legoland New York Resort will offer free admission to first responders on the weekend leading up to Sept. 11.

From Friday, Sept. 8 through Sunday, Sept. 10, police, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics will be eligible for free admission to Legoland New York Resort.

Organizers said the offer is open to career as well as volunteer responders from any department.

All they have to do is show a valid ID at the ticket windows to enjoy a free day of fun.

“It’s our way of saying thank you for keeping us safe,” said spokesman Matt Besterman.

And participating first responders, as well as anyone else visiting the amusement park, will be able to experience a new attraction called Ocean Explorer.

Visitors can set sail on a high-sea adventure on the Explorer-23, which stands an impressive 45 feet tall and swings at 28 mph.

You’ll want to hold your breath for jaw-dropping encounters with a giant Lego shark constructed from more than 120,000 Lego bricks.

Additional Labor Day weekend highlights include splashing and playing on the all-new Lego City Water Playground, riding the world premiere Lego Factory Adventure ride, the Dragon Coaster and Lego Ninjago The Ride and exploring Miniland USA.

Legoland New York Resort is also a multi-day destination. You can sleep over in one of the hotel’s 250-themed guest rooms that include a separate sleeping area just for the kids, with bunk beds and a trundle.

Legoland New York Resort is located at 1 Legoland Way in Goshen, Orange County.
