Little Lost Bear Cub Makes Friends And Finds A New Home
Ulster County Sheriff deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a disoriented bear cub in the middle of the road.

On Wednesday, around 10:30 p.m., Ulster County Sheriff deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a disoriented bear cub in the middle of Samsonville Road, in the Town of Rochester.
"Luckily, Deputy Dave Stoutenburgh arrived before the bear-y friendly little one was injured further," officials said in a statement posted on social media. "Thank you to Catskill Mountain Wildlife Rehabilitation for arranging medical care and rehabilitation for the cub, as the mother was not located."

There is only one rehabilitation center in New York that takes black bears, Friends of the Feathered and Furried in Windham. Catskill Mountain Wildlife Rehabilitation kept the rescued cub safe and cozy overnight until it could be taken to Friends of the Feathered and Furried where the yearling will be examined by experts.
