Major Problems On Hudson Valley Roads Monday

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Torrential rains that swept through the Hudson Valley Sunday into Monday left problems on roadways both east and west of the Hudson River.

According to the state Department of Transportation's 511NY website, many of the road closures involve flooding and structural collapse.

Motorists should be aware that travel in the region will be problematic through Monday at the very least. It would be prudent to check conditions in your area before heading out.

There are major problems on Metro-North as well.

Here are some of the problems on the roads as of 10 a.m. Monday.

West of Hudson River

• NY Route 218, road closure and collapse between Storm King Highway; Highlands Ramp and Town of Cornwall; Town of Highlands line. All lanes blocked.
• US Route 9W, road closure and flooding, area of NY Route 293 (Highlands). All lanes blocked.
• US Route 9W, tree down, north of Exit-NY 218 (Highlands), 1424 Route 9W. All lanes blocked.
• US Ruote 9W, tree down, southbound north of Exit-NY 218 (Highlands), 1530 US Hwy 9W. All lanes blocked.
• Road closure and weather-related on NY 980U/Main Street both directions between US 9W (Highlands) and NY 218 (Highlands). All lanes blocked.
• US Route 9W, flooding and road closure both directions at Mine Dock Road (Highlands). All lanes blocked.
• Palisades Interstate Parkway southbound, flooding and road closure and collapse, between US 9W; US 6, End Route (Highlands) and Exit 15; Old Gate Hill Road; CR 10 (Stony Point). All lanes closed.
• NY 21, flooding and road closure and collapse at Trout Brook Road (Woodbury), all lanes of two lanes blocked, southbound missing section of roadway.

East of Hudson River

• US 6, flooding and road closure both directions between NY 9D (Cortlandt) and Annsville Circle (Cortlandt). All lanes blocked.
• NY 343, tree down and road closure, both directions at Old Route 22 (Washington). All lanes blocked at Taylor Oil.
• Taconic State Parkway, tree down and road closure, south of Baird Park Road (LaGrange), MM 48.3. All lanes blocked.
• NY 82, floosing and road closure both directions at Emans Road (LaGrange). All lanes blocked.
• Taconic State Parkway, flooding and road closure, southbound at Exit 41, Beekman Road-CR9 (East Fishkill). All lanes blocked.
• DOT Flooding and Ramp Closure on Taconic State Parkway southbound at Exit 41 - Beekman Rd. - CR 9 (East Fishkill) all lanes of 1 lane blocked - Exit Ramp to Beekman Rd CR-9.
• DOT Flooding and Road Closure on NY 292 both directions between START ROUTE NY 292; NY 311 (Patterson) and END ROUTE; NY 55 (Pawling) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked.
• DOT Flooding and Road Closure on NY 292 both directions between START ROUTE NY 292; NY 311 (Patterson) and END ROUTE; NY 55 (Pawling) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked.
• DOT Flooding on Taconic State Parkway northbound at Exit 20 - US 6 (Yorktown) right lane of 3 lanes blocked MM 20.5.
• DOT Flooding and Road Closure on US 202 both directions at Lexington Ave (Yorktown) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked.
• DOT Flooding and Road Closure on US 202 both directions between Bear Mountain State Parkway (Yorktown) and Stoney St (Yorktown) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked.
• DOT Flooding and Ramp Closure on Taconic State Parkway both directions at Exit 17A - US 202; NY 35; Crompond Road (Yorktown) all lanes of 1 lane blocked - Ramp from TSP to US-202/35.
