Marlboro Man Accused Of Cocaine Possession
Police said the man had swallowed several small bags containing cocaine.
NEW PALTZ, NY — A traffic stop led to an accusation of drug possession for an Ulster County man.
The New York State Police said, around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, troopers said they saw a 2013 BMW 328iS going east on Route 32 in the town of New Paltz that was in violation of the state's vehicle and traffic law.
Nolan V. Casale, 21, of Marlboro, was the driver, and it was determined he was impaired by alcohol, police said.

When the troopers tried to take him into custody, he fled on foot to Main Street and ran toward the Sunoco station.
While running, Casale fell down a hill behind the gas station, police said.

He was taken into custody, after which troopers said they found a plastic bag in his hand that contained cocaine.
Casale then began to dry heave, police said, and threw up several small bags that also contained cocaine.
Troopers called for paramedics, but Casale refused medical attention.
He was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, all felonies.
Casale was additionally charged with obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and driving while ability impaired/alcohol, misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in the Town of New Paltz Court and was released on his own recognizance.
