Massive Drug Bust After SWAT Team Executes Search Warrant: Police

Community complaints led to the seizure of crack, phencyclidine, $1,657 cash, ammunition, phones, scales & packaging materials, cops said.

CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Concerned neighbors helped bring down a drug operation and took guns off the streets, according to law enforcement.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department's Detective Division said that following several complaints through the department's Neighborhood Recovery Unit, detectives investigated narcotics distribution, quality of life concerns, and other criminal activity linked to an apartment on Hudson Avenue.

After detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT Team executed the warrant on Thursday, leading to the seizure of more than 18 grams of crack cocaine, a quantity of phencyclidine, $1,657 cash, ammunition, phones, scales and packaging materials used in the distribution of controlled substances.

Davita Boothe, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was held pending arraignment.
