Mid-Hudson Valley To Mark Sept. 11 With Ceremonies

There will be many memorial services around the Hudson Valley honoring those lost in the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — There will be many memorial services around the Hudson Valley honoring those lost in the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Here are just a few of the ones that were announced.

In the town of Poughkeepsie, the Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Remember 9/11 will hold a Day of Service in Honor of 9/11. It will complete repairs to the Fairview Veterans Service Memorial. The Day of Service will start at 8:30 a.m. at Fairview Park, 113 Fairview Ave. in Poughkeepsie. Email to volunteer.

The city of Poughkeepsie will hold its 9-11 Memorial Ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday at the City Hall 9/11 Memorial, 62 Civic Center Plaza in Poughkeepsie.

Orange County will host its September 11th Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday. It will be at the Orange County Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park. Families and survivors of 9/11 and the families of local military personnel who have perished are invited to participate in the remembrance ceremony and join the procession by assembling in the raised bed gardens behind the Arboretum’s Ottaway Education Center, which is under construction due to a fire, at 5:30 p.m. The procession will begin at 5:55 p.m. and will be followed by the ceremony.

In Dutchess County, there will be the annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Monday on the steps of the Dutchess County Family Court building, at 50 Market St. in Poughkeepsie.
