Dam Advisory Lifted In Orange County
Engineers determine dam is safe, according to county officials.

ORANGE COUNTY, NY – County officials say an advisory about the dam at Beaver Dam Lake has been lifted.
Following an assessment, engineers determined "the safety and the integrity of the dam have not been compromised," the county announced on Facebook late Wednesday.
The announcement came after days of monitoring water flow at the dam.

Officials previously said they believed the water flow from the relief drains was caused by an ice jam increasing pressure on the dam spillway. This prompted an effort to break up and remove the ice to reduce this impact and stop the water discharge.
Officials, who first issued a dam advisory to alert residents about the situation on Monday evening, said there was “no immediate threat.”
