Monroe Man Makes Purchases With Friend's Credit Cards: NYSP

Police said the illegal purchases amounted to more than $1,200.

MONROE, NY — An Orange County man was accused of charging purchases on someone else’s credit card.

The New York State Police said Wednesday that Gustavo W. Gonzalez, 23, of the town of Monroe, was charged with second-degree identity theft and fourth-degree grand larceny, felonies.

Police said, on April 4, they received a complaint about unauthorized charges on several credit cards, amounting to $1,261.

An investigation found that Gonzalez had a falling out with a friend and obtained his credit card information, using those cares to make the unauthorized purchases.

He was arrested Wednesday and given an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Monroe Court Monday.
