Motorcyclist Killed When Struck By Car In Wallkill: Police

Police said the motorcyclist was stopped at an intersection when he was rear-ended by a car.

WALLKILL, NY — A motorcyclist was killed when he was struck by a car Monday night on Route 211 East.

The Town of Wallkill Police Department said the collision happened around 9:25 p.m. Monday on Route 211 East and Tower Drive in Wallkill.

Responding officers said a 2012 Subaru struck a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by George Marse, 56, of Port Jervis.

Marse was taken by Town of Wallkill Emergency Medical Services to Garnet Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said the Subaru, which was being driven by Juan M. Castillo, 37, of Wallkill, was traveling west on Route 211 East when it collided with the rear of Marse’s motorcycle. Marse was also going west but had stopped at the intersection with Tower Drive.

The investigation by the Town of Wallkill Police Department detectives into the collision is ongoing and is being assisted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the New York State Police, the Silver Lake Fire Department, the Town of Wallkill Emergency Medical Services, the Town of Wallkill Department of Public Works and the Town of Wallkill Office of Emergency Management.
