Motorist Arrested After Road Rage Incident With Wawayanda Ambulance: Police

The ambulance was in Wallkill responding to an emergency, according to police.

ORANGE COUNTY, NY — A motorist is accused of getting into a “road rage” encounter with an ambulance after it passed his vehicle in Wallkill while responding to an emergency, state police said.

Terrill Osborne, 47, of Middletown, was charged Wednesday with reckless driving and obstructing emergency medical services.

The incident happened around 11:36 a.m. Wednesday on County Route 78.

Police said a paramedic was operating a Wawayanda ambulance in emergency mode, with lights activated, en route to a call. The ambulance legally passed a 2001 Chrysler operated by Osborne, according to state police.

Osborne then followed the ambulance, “driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed,” state police said.

Police said Osborne pulled alongside the ambulance, passed it illegally, then pulled in front of it and attempted to stop it.

“These actions obstructed the paramedic from continuing to respond to the emergency call,” police said.

Osborne is due to appear in Town of Wawayanda Court Oct. 9.
