New York State Police Searching Hudson Valley Woods After Someone Heard 'Yelling For Help'

Anyone who believes a family member or loved one was in this area and has not returned, is urged to contact the New York State Police.

"State Police in Troop K are currently conducting a search in the area of Holsapple Road and Chestnut Ridge Road in the Town of Dover following a report of a person yelling for help in a wooded area," NYSP said in an advisory released shortly after 9 a.m.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY — In a Public Advisory, the New York State Police are explaining police activity in a Hudson Valley wilderness area.

"State Police in Troop K are currently conducting a search in the area of Holsapple Road and Chestnut Ridge Road in the Town of Dover following a report of a person yelling for help in a wooded area," NYSP said in an advisory released shortly after 9 a.m. "Residents may observe a heavy police presence in the surrounding area."

Police officials said there is no threat to the public.
