Police said they arrived to find Brown with a book bag nearby. The bag had a loaded .380 pistol with a defaced serial number inside, according to police. Brown denied that the bag belonged to him. Police said they had a DNA analysis done of swabs from the firearm, and they matched Brown.

“A dangerous and illegally possessed firearm has been taken off of the streets,” Hoovler said.
